Join the Green Ideas Network and Burnaby Food First for the screening of two films about growing food, community and sustainability. "The Sharing Farm" (14 min) is directed by Michael Gazetas and Keith Berhman, The Sharing Farm tells the story of a small group of determined volunteers and grandmothers whose fruit tree sharing project grew to include a community garden on some unused agricultural land.
"Edible City" (70 min) () is a fun, fast-paced, documentary film that tells the stories of extraordinary people who are digging their hands into the dirt, working to transform their communities and doing something truly revolutionary: growing local Good Food systems that are socially just, environmentally sound, and economically resilient. "Edible City" captures the inspirational spirit of a movement that's making real change - from edible education to grassroots activism to building local economies - and finding solutions to monumental problems.
See you there!
