Feature: Local Food Justice TED Talk

Check out this great TED talk by neighbourhood food network coordinator Stephanie Lim from the Renfrew-Collingwood Food Security Institute. Her talk on food justice shows us how nuanced food sustainability can be and the need to challenge our local food assumptions and biases.

Stephanie Lim coordinates the Renfrew-Collingwood Food Security Institute. Through food skills workshops, urban agriculture, and community events, she gathers neighbours of many ages and backgrounds to address food insecurity as a collective concern. These projects support culturally relevant and sustainable eating, volunteerism and leadership development, and environmental stewardship.

TEDx Talks

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx (x = independently organized TED event).
